Emily Brown was a passenger with her mother Pam, traveling down  Littleville Road when she told her mom she could see a house on fire.  The Kyle Rushing home, located just off Littleville Road at 145  Brookwood Drive, was cast in total darkness and flames were easy to  see. Her mother stopped at the Martin house across the street and Rita  called 911,  A quick response from the Haleyville firemen kept the  fire in the end of a two car garage from destroying the home. Wendy  Rushing and two young daughters were home at the time and first  noticed the power going out. After discovering the fire, Wendy  immediately took the children out back of the house and called her  husband Kyle who called 911. The fire was determined to be caused by  electrical wiring near the service box at the house. Kyle praised the  quick response of the Haleyville FD for saving his house. Haleyville  was assisted by Pebble Fire Department equipment and men.
